Two Options For First Communion

. In order to alleviate overcrowding, maintain the spiritual dimension of the Sacrament and to respond to the needs of our families, we are again offering two options for First Communion.  Please discuss the options with your family to decide which one would best fit your family.  These options are:

1. Traditional Saturday Morning Mass-- 10:00AM, May 7

.

  • Ushers will assist families and guests with seating.
  • All First Communicants will sit together as a group.
  • Professional videographers will record the ceremony, providing images from both the choir loft and the sanctuary.  Each child will be recorded receiving the Sacrament.  No other pictures will be allowed during the Mass and the aisles will be kept clear to avoid congestion and obstruction.
  • The priests will be available after Mass for pictures.
  • Each class (Sunday PREP classes, Wednesday PREP classes and parochial school class) will be photographed by by a professional photographer after the Mass and these pictures will be sent to you before the end of the school year.

.

2. First Communion with Parish Assembly at Regular Sunday Mass.

.

  • Children receive First Eucharist at either the 9AM or 11AM Mass on Sunday April 24 or Sunday, May 1.
  • Children choosing this option will process in with the priests at the start of Mass and sit in the front pews with their families.
  • Communicants receive communion before the assembly and will be invited into the Sanctuary after the announcements to receive their First Communion certificates.
  • At the close of Mass, the First Communicants will process out with the priests.
  • No pictures may be taken during Mass, though the ceremony may be videographed by a friend or family member from the choir loft only.
  • Priests will be available for pictures after Mass.

.

Please tell us which option your family has decided on for your child's Fist Communion on the form on the next page.
